Nashville Predators to be featured in the return of the NHL's Behind the Glass
The Nashville Predators will be featured in the third season of the NHL's all-access preseason documentary Behind The Glass.
The show will premier Sept. 30 at 9 p.m. (CST). It is set to return after two years of protocol restrictions.
Produced by NHL Network in association with NHL Original Productions, Behind The Glass: Nashville Predators Training Camp four-part series will take a behind-the-scenes look at the NHL preseason through the lens of the Predators.
Beginning Wednesday Predators players trying to make the final roster will be mic’d up throughout training camp for the series. They will be followed in the 2022 NHL Global Series Challenge exhibition game in Bern, Switzerland and ultimately in their preparation for the 2022 NHL Global Series season opener Oct. 7 in Prague against the San Jose Sharks.

“We love partnering with the league on their events and programming and there’s no better way to combine our participation in the Global Series Games than with the all-access content that Behind the Glass provides,” Predators president/CEO Sean Henry said. “Not only will this give the fans of Smashville the peak behind the curtain they crave, but will also prove to be a valuable way to chronicle our first trip to play games in Europe.”
Behind The Glass will shadow Predators general manager David Poile and coach John Hynes for insight into their evaluations on the more than 50 players competing for 23 roster spots.
Exclusive access to Roman Josi as he returns to his hometown of Bern, Switzerland will also be featured.
Newly acquired Predators Ryan McDonagh, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, and long-time NHL winger Nino Niederreiter will be profiled.
There also will be mic’d up sound from recently extended Predators mainstay Filip Forsberg, along with Juuse Saros, who finished third in Vezina Trophy voting last season.
As the series moves along, NHL Network’s cameras will travel with the Predators to Czechia for the start of the regular season.
“The stakes are raised and expectations are high for the Nashville Predators and that makes this team the perfect candidate for Behind The Glass,” said NHL chief content officer and senior executive vice president Steve Mayer, who is the executive producer of this series.
“Behind The Glass will help answer your questions and maybe confirm or dispel your theories on the inner workings of building a competitive NHL team."
Behind the Glass installments will be on Tuesday nights Oct. 4, 11 and 18.
The first season of Behind The Glass in 2018 provided a detailed look inside the NHL preseason of the New Jersey Devils. The Philadelphia Flyers were featured in the 2019 edition of the series.
Exclusive bonus content and clips from each episode will be shared by the NHL, NHL Network and the Predators across their digital and social media platforms using #BehindTheGlass.
