On Monday afternoon, Netflix's official Twitter account tweeted confirmation that the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs will be filmed for a documentary. NASCAR will be the latest in a long list of sports that have been featured by the streaming service including Formula 1, the PGA Tour, pro tennis and the NFL. That also includes the "Untold" series which will include a new documentary on the Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow Florida Gators squads called "Swamp Kings" to be released on Tuesday.

The NASCAR series will go behind the scenes with the 16 playoff drivers as they compete for the Cup Series championship to be decided after 10 races with a finale at Phoenix on Nov. 5.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., Ben Kennedy among team of producers

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is among a team of executive producers that also includes Ben Kennedy, great grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. and the current NASCAR Vice President of Racing Development and Strategy. Also involved on the producing side are Tim Clark, Matt Summers and Tally Hair.

Earnhardt Jr., a 26-time Cup Series winner, son of seven-time champion Dale Earnhardt Sr. and current analyst on NBC's NASCAR broadcasts tweeted out confirmation of the news as well on Monday. Earnhardt Jr. is also the host of the "Dale Jr. Download", a popular NASCAR podcast.

So who's in the playoffs and who will be a part of the show?

Heading into this weekend's final race of the regular season, 15 drivers have locked up playoff spots with Bubba Wallace currently holding the 16th. William Byron, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Chris Buescher, Christopher Bell, Ross Chastain, Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, Joey Logano, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Michael McDowell are all in via win with Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick clinching spots on points on Sunday at Watkins Glen.

Wallace is 32 points ahead of Ty Gibbs but a new winner at Daytona on Saturday would knock Wallace out of the playoffs.
