NASCAR Daytona Duels results: Christopher Bell wins Duel 2

Christopher Bell made the last-lap pass for the lead then held off Austin Cindric to win Thursday's Duel race No. 2 in qualifying races for the Daytona 500.

Bell passed teammate Denny Hamlin with pushing help from Harrison Burton. Cindric passed Burton into turn four but could not get past the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota for the win.

Several rows behind the leaders, Kaz Grala beat BJ McLeod by a couple spots to earn the final spot in the 500 field with a 12th-place finish.

The race was impacted by a 10-car crash with 14 laps to go, when William Byron and Ryan Blaney spun in front of the majority of the field in the tri-oval. Blaney's car hit the outside wall very hard, then came to a stop on fire. Blaney was treated and released from the infield car center with no issue, but the No. 12 Team Penske Ford will need to go to a backup car for Sunday's race.

Tyler Reddick surges ahead to win Duel No. 1

Tyler Reddick drove from 8th to 1st in the final lap to win Duel race No. 1 on Thursday in qualifying races for Sunday's Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

Reddick darted to the inside to pass a host of Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolets, including runner-up Chase Elliott.

The No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota nearly crashed when coming to pit road for a green flag stop earlier in the race, with Reddick somehow keeping his car clean along with several others.

Reddick was able to get into position after a restart with six laps to go following a four-car crash that included Jimmie Johnson, who needed to race his way into Sunday's field. Johnson kept his car clean, but restarted behind JJ Yeley, the other non-chartered car who was not locked into Sunday's race.

The two ran closely in the final laps, with Yeley surging ahead in the draft before washing up the track in the final turn of the final lap as the race for the win stacked up the field. Johnson took advantage by passing Yeley on the inside and getting to the line with a 12th-place finish to Yeley's 16th.

The Duel 1 results set the inside of each row for the Daytona 500 lineup, with Joey Logano leading the field from the pole on Sunday after Wednesday's fastest lap.
