Mosaic, MWSU release statements after death at training camp

Jul. 31—A Riverside, Missouri, woman died Sunday morning during practice at Chiefs Training Camp.

The victim was identified as Jessica Tangen. Her family shared that she was a lifelong Chiefs fan and loved cheering for the team.

Mosaic Life Care confirmed the death in a press release on Sunday evening.

In a statement, Mosaic praised the emergency responders on the scene.

"Our Mosaic caregivers who provided medical attention at camp Sunday morning and our emergency department caregivers would like to thank our partners who reacted swiftly including Buchanan County EMS and Missouri Western State University staff."

In the statement, Mosaic Life Care did not release a cause of death. Mosaic officials say they will not be releasing any other details at this time.

Missouri Western State University also released a statement on the death.

"We work closely and collaboratively with medical staff to provide a safe environment for fans at Chiefs Camp, and we greatly appreciate the Missouri Western staff and our partners with Mosaic and the Buchanan County EMS for their swift response."
