Morton, Eureka grade-school volleyball teams win IESA state championships in 2024
The Illinois Elementary School Association volleyball state finals took place in March 2024 at locations across the state.
Two teams from Peoria-area communities won state championships, both at the eighth-grade level. Morton won the Class 4A eighth-grade title Saturday night at Morton, while Eureka won the 3A eighth-grade title at Pana High School.

Morton Junior High School
Record: 30-1-0
How they won: Defeated Chatham Glenwood 25-23, 25-22 to win the eighth-grade Class 4A state championship at Morton Junior High School on March 16.
Roster: Leah Necessary, Rowan Gannaway, Hailey Bassett, Lil Vestal, Penelope Drake, Charlotte Brumme, Kylee Brown, Mallory Carter, Bella Joos, Reagan Penrod, Alexa Sweazy, Miley Darche, Linsee Muniz, Sonja Reinkoester, Mara Schick.
History: Third state championship since 2015.
IESA BASKETBALL: All the 2023-24 state champs from the Peoria area
Eureka Middle School
Record: 27-3-0
How they won: Defeated Manteno 25-13, 26-24 to win the eighth-grade Class 3A state championship at Pana High School on March 16.
Roster: Krissa Agnew, Kia Boles, Anika Schrock, Bryleigh Brace, Katelyn Vogel, Brookelyn Sauder, Katelyn Brugger, Fallon Johnson, Enlee Wiegand, Stella Wilson, Brinley Garber, Madi Meyer, Ella Stalter, Payton Flanary, Alivia Schrock.
History: It is the school's 14th IESA title and fifth in volleyball.
