Saturday results: Hoover sprinter Amahrie Harsh named girls MVP at Optimist Meet
Hoover sprinter Amahrie Harsh won all four of her events and was named girls MVP at Saturday's Optimist Track and Field Meet at Austintown Fitch.
Harsh swept the 100, 200 and 400-meter individual sprints and ran on the Vikings' winning 800 relay. Her time of 12.08 seconds in the 100 was a season best.
Harsh's performance helped lead Hoover to the girls team title.

Friday results: Marlington boys track and field wins team title at Fairless
Cameron Evanich's win in the long jump helped Marlington earn the boys team title at the Fairless Twilight Track and Field Invitational on Friday.
Evanich's victory in the final completed event of the night was one of eight wins for the Dukes. He also finished first in the 200-meter dash and ran on Marlington's winning 800 and 1,600 relays.
Colin Cernansky ran a season-best 1:53.26 to win the 800. A week after setting the all-time Stark County record in the 3,200, he came within 1.07 seconds of the county 800 record.
Micah Black won the high jump for the Dukes. Marlington's other individual wins came from Logan Citino in the 1,600 and Brady Denham in the 400.
GlenOak sweeps team titles at Euclid Relays
GlenOak's boys and girls completed another team title sweep at the Euclid Relays.
The win by the GlenOak girls extended their unbeaten run to start the season. They have won every dual meet and invitational they have competed in.
Sophia Ngetich, Panagiota Tzouloufis, Jada Ames and Katie Esporite ran on the Golden Eagles' winning 3,200 relay. Natalie Bisesi finished first in the pole vault.
GlenOak's Ryder Greenwood won the boys 100 and ran on the Golden Eagles' winning 1,600 relay with Braedon Paolini, Sean Lynch and Wesley Marsden. Skylan King had the other GlenOak boys win in the long jump.
Perry completes sweep at Medina Last Chance event
Connor Reed captured two individual wins on a day the Perry boys and girls swept the team titles at the Medina Last Chance Meet.
Reed won the 800 and 1,600. The Panthers' other individual boys wins came from Carson Basham in the 200, Jayden Wilson in the 400 and Logan Reese in the 3,200. The Perry boys 400, 800 and 1,600 relays also won.
Capturing individual wins for the Perry girls were Chloe Dostal in the 800, Alyssa Palosi in the 1,600, Allison Reese in the 400, Camille Neutzling in the 300 hurdles and Isabelle Perry in the shot put. The Panthers also swept the relays.
Jackson girls dominate Polar Bear Relays
The Jackson girls won every event on their way to the team title at the Polar Bear Relays.
In addition to sweeping the relays, the Polar Bears also had wins from Kayla Holt in the shot put, Harper Hirschman in the discus, Adelyn Evans in the pole vault, Taylor Brownsword and Abra Manofsky in the high jump, Elsie Desramaux in the long jump and Abigail LaPole in the seated shot put.

ALLIANCE REPEATS IN EBC Bo Davis threw a complete-game shutout as the Aviators clinched their second straight outright Eastern Buckeye Conference baseball championship with a 3-0 win at rival Marlington on Tuesday. Davis limited the Dukes to four hits while striking out five for Alliance (14-4, 8-1), which had clinched at least a share of the league title entering the game. The Aviators hadn't won a league title of any kind since 2009 before last year's championship. Brady White and Nathan Butt each had two hits for Alliance, with White scoring a run. The Aviators host Marlington on Wednesday to close out the conference schedule.
LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN NEARS PTC CROWN Nathan Bryant struck out 11 and allowed one run over six innings as the Tigers won 2-1 for a two-game sweep of Mogadore in Portage Trail Conference action. Lake Center, which had won at Mogadore 12-2 on Monday, improves to 17-1 overall and 8-0 in the PTC. The first-place Tigers can repeat as outright league champions with one win next week against second-place Warren JFK (7-1 in PTC). They host Warren JFK on Monday and go on the road Tuesday. Matt Warder had two hits for Lake Center on Tuesday, while Grant Coblentz doubled and earned the save.
