Friday results: Marlington's Colin Cernansky sets county 3,200 record
Stark County has a new 3,200-meter record holder.
Marlington's Colin Cernansky etched his name into the record book with a time of 8:58.96 at Friday's Wayne Invitational. He becomes the first county high school runner to break the 9-minute mark in the 3,200.
Cernansky broke the boys 3,200 record set by Lake's Nathan Moore in 2021. Moore's time of 9:00.88 won him a Division I state championship.
GLENOAK SWEEPS PERRY 9TH-10TH GRADE INVITATIONAL
The GlenOak boys and girls track and field teams completed a team title sweep at Perry's 9th-10th Grade Invitational. The win by the GlenOak girls extended their unbeaten run to start the season. The Golden Eagles have won every dual meet and invitational they have competed in. Hannah Price won the 300 hurdles and Panagiota Tzouloufis took the 800 for the Golden Eagles girls. GlenOak's other wins came in the 1,600 and 3,200 relays. The GlenOak boys winners were Marcus Jeter in the long jump, Sean Lynch in the 800, Javi'ion McClendon in the 200 and Canaan Sommers in the 3,200.
