Mitchell wins tiebreaker over Aberdeen Central to win Pierre Girls Golf Invite

PIERRE — Quinn Dannenberg of Mitchell won a coin flip for medalist honors and the Kernels won a tiebreaker for team honors in the Pierre Girls Golf Invitational on Monday at the Hillsview Golf Course.

Mitchell and Aberdeen Central each finished with 327 scores in the 14-team meet. Watertown placed ninth with a 359 score.

Dannenbring, Mattie Weidenbach of Harrisburg and Tanna Phares of Rapid City Stevens each shot 6-over 77s to tie for individual honors.

Olivia Braun of Aberdeen Central took sixth with a 79, followed by teammate Emma Dohrer seventh with an 80. Riley Zebroski led Watertown, placing ninth with an 81.

Dell Rapids St. Mary Invite

DELL RAPIDS — Medalists AJ Wilber of Hanson and Ayla McDonald of Chester Area led their teams to titles Monday in the Dell Rapids St. Mary Boys and Girls Golf Invite.

Wilber shot an 80 to win the boys division by one shot over Ben Wilber of Hanson. Deubrook Area's Gavin Landmark was third with an 93. Connor Andrews of Deubrook Area and Kasen Janssen of De Smet placed ninth and 10th, respectively, with 86s.

McDonald shot an 84 to win the girls division by two shots over runner-up Allison Andrews and third-place finisher Bailey Landmark, both of Deubrook Area. Jacie McCune of De Smet was 10th a 99.

Hanson shot 252 to win the boys division by nine shots over Howard. Deubrook Area was third at 264 and De Smet 11th at 290. Chester Area shot 268 and won the girls division by 20 shots over Deubrook Area.
