Missouri basketball lands first 2024 commitment. Here's what to know about T.O. Barrett

Missouri basketball has landed its first commitment for the 2024 recruiting class. T.O. Barrett, a combo guard announced his plans to play his college basketball in Columbia on Thursday.

He made the annoucement on social media, along with Joe Tipton of On3 Sports.

Barrett will play his senior year at the Link Academy in Branson, where he recently transferred. He is listed as a four-star recruit on the 247Sports composite rankings.

Before heading to Branson, a move that was announced in May, Barrett played for Edmonds North in Oklahoma. He won two consecutive state titles there.

Barrett plays for MOKAN Elite as part of the Nike EYBL circuit, a team that will be playing in the Peach Jam in July in Atlanta. He has averaged 9.2 points per game, along with 5.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists with MOKAN Elite.

The guard has checked several of MU head coach Dennis Gates’ boxes during his time on the EYBL circuit. He has thus far posted a positive assist-to-turnover ratio and has nabbed 22 steals in 17 games.

He chose the Tigers over offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Missouri State among others. 247Sports lists him as the No. 93 player nationally in its composite rankings, the No. 13 combo guard and the sixth best player in the state of Missouri for the class of 2024.

Barrett is listed at six-foot, four inches and 180 pounds. He is Gates’ first commit of the 2024 class, but the coach will likely add more, given that the Tigers have seven players who are out of eligibility after the 2023-24 season.
