HOOVER, Ala. — Mississippi State baseball finds itself in the winner's bracket of the SEC tournament after thrilling victories in the first two rounds. With a trip to the semifinals on the line, No. 5 seed MSU faces No. 8 seed Vanderbilt on Thursday at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.
The Bulldogs (38-19) opened their time in Hoover with a 2-1 win against No. 12 seed Ole Miss on Tuesday. MSU went 26 outs before scoring a run, but a two-run, walk-off home run from Connor Hujsak provided all the runs the Bulldogs needed.

Mississippi State defeated No. 4 seed Texas A&M, 5-3, on Wednesday. Again, it was Hujsak coming through clutch with a two-run single in the ninth breaking a tie against the Aggies.
MSU played at Vanderbilt (37-20) in late April and took two of three games. The Commodores are coming off wins against No. 9 seed Florida and No. 1 seed Tennessee.
