Mississippi high school football top performers from Week 3 of the 2023 season

Here are Mississippi high school football top performers from Week 3 of the 2023 MHSAA season.

Offense

Easton Sartin, Bogue Chitto: Sartin rushed for 144 yards on 17 attempts and a touchdown in a 42-40 victory over Enterprise. Defensively, he had eight tackles and two sacks.

Nate Blount, Brandon: Blount ran the ball 23 times for 205 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-10 victory over Clinton.

Quincy Phillips Jr., Brandon: Phillips caught six passes for 151 yards and a touchdown.

Jay Cole Williams, Bruce: Williams ran the ball 21 times for 155 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-40 victory over East Union. He also threw for 77 yards and a TD.

James Browning, Bruce: Browning had 16 carries for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, he had eight tackles, including two for loss.

Jordan Cannon, DeSoto Central: Cannon carried the ball 22 times for 124 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-13 victory over Jonesboro.

Tavares Wade, Hattiesburg: Wade rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-14 loss to Oak Grove.

Tony Vance, Hattiesburg: Vance accounted for 138 yards of total offense (71 passing and 67 rushing).

Topher Jones, Hernando: Jones was 12-of-24 passing for 192 yards in a 40-0 loss to Tupelo. He also rushed for 34 yards.

Deveyon Hunter, Horn Lake: Hunter threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-32 loss to Olive Branch. He also ran for 43 yards.

Rodriunn Fairlee, Horn Lake: Fairlee had three catches for 86 yards and a touchdown.

Jason Edwards Jr., Horn Lake: Edwards caught four passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns.

Hank Eaton, Kossuth: Eaton had 15 carries for 238 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-28 victory over Tishomingo County. He was also 7-of-12 passing for 128 yards and a TD.

Ahmad Hardy, Lawrence County: Hardy carried the ball 13 times for 193 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-35 loss to East Central.

Kannon Cato, Lawrence County: Cato rushed for 138 yards on 10 attempts and two touchdowns. He also threw for 52 yards.

Gunner Gilmore, Lewisburg: Gilmore was 11-of-16 passing for 120 yards and a touchdown in a 33-0 victory over Center Hill. He added three rushing TDs.

Lucas Gaschk, Lewisburg: Gaschk had five receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown.

Zach Ealy, Morton: Ealy was 11-of-15 passing for 203 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-0 victory over Leake Central. He also rushed for 156 yards and a TD.

Justyce Williams, Murrah: Williams was 10-of-17 passing for 212 yards and five touchdowns in a 32-12 victory over Forest Hill.

Peyton Johnson, Murrah: Johnson caught five passes for 124 yards and four touchdowns.

AJ Maddox, Oak Grove: Maddox was 13-of-21 passing for 240 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-14 victory over Hattiesburg.

PJ Woodland, Oak Grove: Woodland had six receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he also returned an interception 13 yards for a TD.

Raheem Vance, Olive Branch: Vance was 26-for-30 passing for 411 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-32 victory over Horn Lake. He also ran for 39 yards.

Britten Taylor, Olive Branch: Taylor had seven receptions for 209 yards and two touchdowns.

Kylan Rhodes, Olive Branch: Rhodes ran the ball 23 times for 165 yards and three touchdowns.

Ethan Bobo, Olive Branch: Bobo caught seven passes for 85 yards.

Michael Turner, Ripley: Turner had three catches for 77 yards and a touchdown in a 17-16 victory over Choctaw County. Defensively, he added six tackles and two interceptions.

Ahmad Harris, Rosa Fort: Harris was 5-of-8 passing for 151 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-0 victory over Shaw. He also ran for 52 yards and a TD.

Ardavius Harris, Rosa Fort: Harris caught three passes for 125 yards and a touchdown.

Kyron Murphy, Sacred Heart: Murphy was 10-of-13 passing for 245 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-10 victory over St. Andrew’s.

DJ Booth, Sacred Heart: Booth ran for 205 yards on 30 attempts and two touchdowns.

Jeremiah Harrell, Tupelo: Harrell was 11-of-19 passing for 152 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-0 victory over Hernando. He also ran for 51 yards.

JJ Hill, Tupelo: Hill rushed for 96 yards on 13 attempts and two touchdowns.

Qua Middlebrooks and Tyreke Darden, Tupelo: Middlebrooks and Darden had 94 and 76 yards of total offense, respectively, and combined for three touchdowns.

Brewer Bailey, Tupelo Christian Prep: Bailey ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-0 victory over Harding Academy. He also threw for a TD.

Jon Scott, Tupelo Christian Prep: Scott rushed for 54 yards and accounted for two touchdowns.

Donalvin Wilson, Water Valley: Wilson had 15 tackles, including nine for loss, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in a 28-20 loss to Baldwyn.

Zevante Stapleton, Wesson: Stapleton ran the ball 17 times for 176 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-7 victory over Perry Central.

Defense

Jaeden Calender, Brandon: Calender had 13 total tackles, including three for a loss, and a sack in a 31-10 win against Clinton.

Korique Pierce, Bruce: Pierce had nine tackles, including two for loss, and blocked an extra point in a 42-40 win against East Union.

Josh Flowers, DeSoto Central: Flowers had five tackles and two touchdowns in a 29-13 win against Jonesboro.

Taurean Davis, DeSoto Central: Davis had nine tackles and a sack. Offensively, he added a TD reception.

Chris Thomas, DeSoto Central: Thomas had seven tackles, including three for a loss, two sacks and a forced fumble.

Jaylen Barker, Howard Dunn and Malcolm Gowdy, D’Iberville: The three Warriors had eight tackles each in a 42-7 loss to Picayune. Barker also recovered a fumble.

Shannon Donaldson, D’Iberville: Donaldson had seven tackles and a forced fumble.

AJ Miles and Brian Pittman, D’Iberville: Miles and Pittman each had six tackles. Miles forced a fumble; Pittman had a fumble recovery.

Brandon Mitchell and Demarcus Baker, Hattiesburg: Mitchell and Baker combined for 8.5 total tackles in a 32-14 loss to Oak Grove.

Hallis Lawson, Hernando: Lawson had seven solo tackles, including one for loss, in a 40-0 loss to Tupelo.

Brandon Brooks Jr., Horn Lake: Brooks returned a fumble 66 yards for a touchdown in a 35-32 loss to Olive Branch.

Will Stockton, Lewisburg: Stockton had nine total tackles, including two for loss, and a safety in a 33-0 win against Center Hill.

Elliot Helps, Lewisburg: Helps had eight total tackles and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

Dolph McDonald, Morton: McDonald had five total tackles and three interceptions, including one returned for touchdown, in a 34-0 win against Leake Central.

Lebron Edmond, Murrah: Edmond had six tackles, including three for loss, and two sacks in a 32-12 win against Forest Hill.

Sam Walton and Tyler Leggette, Olive Branch: Walton and Leggette each had six tackles in a 35-32 win against Horn Lake. Walton also had a sack.

JaReylan McCoy, Tupelo: McCoy had six total tackles, including 3.5 for loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in a 40-0 win against Hernando.

Jaboree Dooley, Tupelo: Dooley had six total tackles, including one for loss.

Special teams

Zachoryian Baskins, Tupelo: Baskins returned a third-quarter kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown in a 40-0 victory over Hernando.
