Mississippi high school football top performers from Week 6 of the 2023 season

Here are Mississippi high school football top performers from Week 6 of the 2023 MHSAA season.

Offense

Andre Crosby, D’Iberville: Crosby ran the ball 20 times for 193 yards and three touchdowns in a 63-31 victory over Wayne County.

Kevin Rogers, D’Iberville: Rogers had 11 carries for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

TJ Jasper, D’Iberville: Jasper rushed for 79 yards on 11 attempts and a touchdown.

Jordan Walley, D’Iberville: Walley had a 75-yard touchdown run.

DJ McNair, George County: McNair ran the ball 21 times for 92 yards, threw for 70 yards and accounted for three touchdowns in a 34-28 loss to Hattiesburg.

Jacobe Street, George County: Street rushed for 105 yards on 21 attempts.

Montrell Dortch, George County: Dortch had two catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.

Tony Vance, Hattiesburg: Vance had eight carries for 144 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-28 victory over George County. He also threw for 73 yards.

Tavares Wade, Hattiesburg: Wade ran the ball 23 times for 126 yards and a touchdown.

Ahmad Hardy, Lawrence County: Hardy carried the ball 16 times for 400 yards in a 53-37 victory over Sumrall.

Kannon Cato, Lawrence County: Cato rushed for 159 yards on 11 attempts and three touchdowns.

DeMarion Snow, Pelahatchie: Snow had 19 carries for 233 yards and four touchdowns in 42-35 victory over St. Andrew’s.

Keegan Strong, Ripley: Strong had 16 carries for 150 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-19 victory over Shannon. Defensively, he added three tackles.

Jaylen Brooks, Ripley: Brooks ran the ball 19 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he had eight tackles.

Jack Reid, Ripley: Reid was 6-of-9 passing for 145 yards and a touchdown.

Ahmad Harris, Rosa Fort: Harris was 14-of-20 passing for 272 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-26 victory over Coahoma County. He also rushed for 45 yards and two TDs.

Ardavius Harris, Rosa Fort: Harris had four receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Tarvis Davis, Rosa Fort: Davis had 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Dagarrius Clifton, Shannon: Clifton caught four passes for 84 yards and a touchdown in a 49-19 loss to Ripley.

Treyshun Spurgon, Shannon: Spurgon threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

Kegan Ruff, Shannon: Ruff had 11 carries for 94 yards.

Friend Walker, St. Andrew’s: Walker threw for 441 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-35 loss to Pelahatchie.

Rolen Fanning, St. Andrew’s: Fanning had five receptions for 154 yards and three touchdowns.

John William Walker, St. Andrew’s: Walker caught eight passes for 146 yards.

TJ Rials, Yazoo County: Rials was 9-of-15 passing for 153 yards and a touchdown in a 22-14 loss to Humphreys County. He also ran for 83 yards.

Jarrett Jasper, Yazoo County: Jasper ran the ball 12 times for 93 yards and a touchdown. He also had 52 receiving yards and a TD.

Defense

Jaylen Barker, D’Iberville: Barker had eight tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in a 63-31 win against Wayne County.

Malcolm Gowdy and AJ Miles, D’Iberville: Gowdy and Miles each had eight tackles.

Greg Boyden, Shannon Donaldson and Izaiah Ladner, D’Iberville: The Warrior trio had six tackles apiece. Ladner added a sack.

Omar Johnson, D’Iberville: Johnson had four tackles and an interception.

Marquise Washington, D’Iberville: Washington had four tackles and a fumble recovery.

Brandon Mitchell, Hattiesburg: Mitchell registered nine tackles in a 34-28 win over George County.

Fred Harris, Lawrence County: Harris had 12 solo tackles and an assist in a 53-37 win against Sumrall.

Keegan Strong, Ripley: Strong had 16 carries for 150 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-19 victory over Shannon. Defensively, he added three tackles.

Jaylen Brooks, Ripley: Brooks ran the ball 19 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he had eight tackles.

Jack Reid, Ripley: Reid was 6-of-9 passing for 145 yards and a touchdown.

Gabriel Pipkins, Sacred Heart: Pipkins had nine solo tackles, four assists and a fumble recovery in an 18-14 victory over East Marion.

Eli Bullock, Sacred Heart: Bullock had seven tackles, including one for loss, and a forced fumble.

Carter Thompson, St. Andrew’s: Thompson registered eight solo tackles and nine assists in a 42-35 loss to Pelahatchie.

Brayden Jones, Yazoo County: Jones had three solo tackles and eight assists in a 22-14 loss to Humphreys County.

Timothy Grant, Yazoo County: Grant had five solo tackles and three assists.

Xzavian Gainwell, Yazoo County: Gainwell had five solo tackles.

Special teams

Demarcus Baker, Hattiesburg: Baker returned a third-quarter kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown in a 34-28 victory against George County.

Tate Hopson, Pelahatchie: Hopson returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown in a 42-35 win against St. Andrew’s. He also rushed for 53 yards.

Shunquavious Jenkins, Shannon: Jenkins returned a punt 21 yards for a touchdown in a 49-19 loss to Ripley.
