Milwaukee Bucks' Pat Connaughton and fiancée, pro soccer player Ryan Gareis, welcome baby boy

Milwaukee Bucks fans, there's still something to celebrate.

Pat Connaughton and his fiancée, Ryan Gareis, welcomed their baby boy, Crew Leo Connaughton, into the world on May 3. Gareis, a professional soccer player with the Houston Dash, made the announcement on Instagram Monday with a carousel of the cutest photos.

There's one of a glowing Gareis in a hospital bed holding the little bundle of joy with Connaughton by her side, all smiles.

"We could not possibly love you more big guy!!!" Gareis said in the post.

Another pic shows Crew with plushies of a basketball, soccer ball, baseball and football, along with his "first sports bag." Already following in his parents' footsteps, we see.

Connaughton was a two-sport athlete in college, and was drafted to play both professional baseball and basketball.

First, the San Diego Padres selected him out of high school in the 38th round of the Major League Baseball draft in 2011, but he didn't sign, according to a previous Journal Sentinel report. After Connaughton attended and played at the University of Notre Dame, the Baltimore Orioles picked him in the fourth round in 2014.

He stayed in school for this senior year to play basketball and was a second-round pick of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets in 2015. He was immediately traded to the Portland Trail Blazers, who he played with for about three years. He's been with the Bucks for about six.

Gareis was selected by the Dash in the fourth round of the 2022 NWSL draft out of the University of South Carolina. She signed a three-year contract extension that will run through the 2025 season.

Off the court, Connaughton has a real estate development company Three Leaf Partners, as well as the Pat Connaughton Foundation, which refurbishes basketball courts and gymnasiums.

Connaughton and Gareis hard-launched their relationship on social media in June 2023. In January 2024, the couple took to Insta to announce they were expecting, and in February, they shared they were engaged.
