Michigan State football's Alante Brown carted off field, but returns to game vs. CMU

Injury struck Michigan State football on the opening kickoff of the season.

Alante Brown, one of two kick returners, got hurt and was taken to the locker room on a cart after the first play against Central Michigan on Friday night.

Brown, a transfer from Nebraska, delivered a block for Tyrell Henry, who fielded the opening kickoff. As Henry made a cut around him, Brown collided with CMU's Thomas Pannunzio and immediately crumpled to the Spartan Stadium turf.

Brown was moving his hands and arms as he was taken off the field. According to MSU's radio broadcast, Brown hopped off the cart and immediately walked by himself for X-rays.

He later returned to the game and fielded and returned a kickoff with 1:51 left in the first half.
