Michigan State basketball heading to Notre Dame for ACC/Big Ten Challenge
Michigan State basketball is renewing its rivalry with Notre Dame again.
The Spartans will travel to South Bend, Indiana, on Nov. 30 to face the Fighting Irish as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tip time and which ESPN channel will broadcast the game are to be determined.
It marks the second time in two seasons and fourth time since 2014 the two former regional rivals will play in the annual cross-conference event. The Spartans beat the Irish, 80-70, on Nov. 28, 2020 and also beat them in 2017 at Breslin Center. Notre Dame won Dec. 3, 2014, 79-78 in overtime, at Purcell Pavilion — that was the first time the two programs played since the 1979 NCAA tournament and MSU’s first game in South Bend since Feb. 5, 1975.

The Irish own a 60-37 advantage in the series and are 36-10 in home games against the Spartans.
MSU will face Kentucky in the Champions Classic on Nov. 15 in Indianapolis and reportedly is close to an agreement to play Gonzaga on Nov. 11 aboard an aircraft carrier in San Diego.
The Spartans also will return to Portland from Nov. 24-27 to take part in the 16-team Phil Knight Invitational event, which will include Duke, North Carolina, Villanova, Alabama, Florida and Purdue, among others.
