Michigan basketball's Eli Brooks signs Exhibit 10 deal with Indiana Pacers

Michigan basketball's Eli Brooks is headed to the NBA.

After not being selected in Thursday's NBA draft, Brooks has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Indiana Pacers. Brooks' deal included a spot on the Pacers' Summer League team and a chance to join Indiana's G League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, if he does not make its roster.

The Wolverines' all-time wins leader, Brooks averaged 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 34 games last season. The the guard averaged 7.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and two assists per game in his five-year career at U-M. He was a captain for the Wolverines during his final two seasons in Ann Arbor.

The Pacers start Summer League play on July 5 against Charlotte, followed by games against Sacramento on July 10, Detroit on July 12 and Washington on July 15.

In head coach Rick Carlisle's first season back at Indiana after previously leading the team from 2003-07, the Pacers finished 25-57 overall and 13th in the Eastern Conference.

On Thursday, Indiana selected Arizona guard Bennedict Mathurin with the No. 6 pick, Gonzaga guard Andrew Nembhard at No. 31, traded for Baylor forward Kendall Brown at No. 48 and took New Zealand Breakers guard Hugo Besson with the No. 58 pick.

Michigan's Caleb Houstan and Moussa Diabate both heard their names called Thursday, with the Orlando Magic taking Houstan at No. 32 and the Los Angeles Clippers selecting Diabate on No. 43.
