Michal Neuvirth out 4-6 weeks with lower-body injury
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury, the team announced Sunday.
Neuvirth exited the Flyers’ 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday following the first period.

So far this season, the 28-year-old Neuvirth has struggled with a 3.54 goal-against average and .859 save percentage in nine games played. He’s in the final season of a two-year, $3.25 million contract.

Last season, Neuvirth held a 2.27 goal-against average and .924 save percentage in 32 games.
In the postseason, he entered Philadelphia’s first-round series against the Washington Capitals in Game 4 and stopped 103 of 105 shots in three games. The Capitals ousted the Flyers in six games.
Philly goaltender Steve Mason, who is expected to receive more playing time with Neuvirth out, has also struggled. He has a 3.41 goal-against average and .880 save percentage.
The Philadelphia Inquirer said the team will likely call up 22-year-old rookie Anthony Stolarz, a 2015-16 All-Star with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Stolarz currently has a 2.39 goal-against average and .927 save percentage with the Phantoms this season.
