Who is starting for the Mets?

Jose Butto, who was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday afternoon, is looking to build off a strong first big league outing of the season.

The 25-year-old right-hander received the start on April 16 against the Oakland Athletics and allowed just one run and five hits in five innings of work in the Mets' 4-3 win.

Butto has also gotten off to a great start with Syracuse this season, posting a 1.86 ERA (two earned runs in 9.2 innings) in his first two outings.

Who is starting for the Nationals?

New Rochelle native Josiah Gray takes the mound for the Nationals. So far this season, he's 0-4 with a 3.74 ERA and 1.48 WHIP.

His last time out, Gray allowed just one run in five innings against the Baltimore Orioles, though he did walk four batters, which has been an issue for him early on.

Gray has struggled in three big league starts against the Mets, pitching to a 12.00 ERA in just 12 innings of work.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets and Nationals return to action Wednesday night at 7:10 p.m. at Citi Field.

After a rough start his last time out, Kodai Senga (3-0, 4.29 ERA) will look to bounce back against Washington's talented young left-hander MacKenzie Gore (2-1, 3.43 ERA)
