Barring an unexpected addition, the Mets have rounded out their rotation for the 2024 season. The club agreed to a two-year, $28 million contract with southpaw Sean Manaea on Sunday morning, according to multiple reports
Manaea spent last season with the San Francisco Giants where he posted a 4.44 ERA in 37 appearances, 10 of them being starts.
The 31-year-old did register a career-high in average fastball velocity — 93.6 MPH — last season leaving some optimism for an increase in performance in Flushing.
The veteran spent the first six seasons of his career with the Oakland A’s before heading to the San Diego Padres in 2022 and Giants in 2023. The left-hander owns a career 4.10 ERA in 196 games.
