Memphis Grizzlies score, live game updates vs. Knicks: Grizzlies down to 8 active players

The Memphis Grizzlies will be very shorthanded for Saturday's game against the New York Knicks.

Jaren Jackson Jr. is listed as doubtful on the Grizzlies' injury report for Saturday's game with a knee contusion, the same injury that forced him to sit in Tuesday's win over Dallas. Desmond Bane (ankle) is designated as out following an ankle injury suffered in Friday's loss to the Clippers. Santi Aldama and Marcus Smart are both out as well, and Ja Morant was ruled out for the season earlier this week with a shoulder injury that required surgery.

The Knicks had a five-game winning streak snapped Thursday in a 128-124 loss at Dallas. Jalen Brunson is playing the best basketball of his career, while Julius Randle is very capable as a 1A option for New York.

GG Jackson leads Memphis with 16 points off the bench. It'll be interesting to see if the Grizzlies can keep it close enough to get to the point where they have to pick out a closing five. Jackson may need to be on the floor in crunch time if it gets there.

All five Knicks starters are in double figures, led by Randle's 19.

Knicks 71, Grizzlies 69 with 4:45 left third quarter: Grizzlies have forced 18 turnovers

The Knicks have 18 turnovers as the Grizzlies defense is swarming Julius Randle. He is credited for five turnovers, but the Grizzlies are doing a good job of stifling Randle when he tries to force things.

Memphis only has six turnovers and is having success getting into the paint and making plays from there.

Memphis finishes well in the second quarter, going on an 18-9 run to take the lead into halftime.

Luke Kennard, Vince Williams Jr. and GG Jackson each have 12 points to lead the Grizzlies. Memphis' shorthanded group is playing hard and balanced on offense.

Knicks 44, Grizzlies 42 with 4:31 left second quarter: Memphis hanging in during second quarter

The Grizzlies have largely struggled in second quarters this year, but the shorthanded rotation is faring OK on Saturday.

GG Jackson is up to 10 points off the bench, his first career double-digit scoring game. He's 4-of-8 from the floor, including 2-of-4 from 3.

Jake LaRavia out with ankle injury; Grizzlies now down to 8 active players

Jake LaRavia injured his ankle in the first quarter and will not return, the team announced.

LaRavia was injured on a drive where he landed awkwardly. He made two free throws and exited the game, but he will not return. The Grizzlies are now down to eight active players.

End of the first quarter: Grizzlies 27, Knicks 25

Vince Williams Jr. continues to make the most of his opportunities. He has 10 points in the first quarter as the Grizzlies have the lead after 12 minutes.

GG Jackson should get more time tonight, and he scores five points in a three-minute stint off the bench to end the quarter.

Julius Randle has 11 points for the Knicks, but someone will have to pick up the slack with Jalen Brunson out.

Jaren Jackson Jr. out as banged-up Grizzlies remake starting lineup

No Jaren Jackson Jr. tonight, the team announced as warmups began. Vince Williams Jr., Jacob Gilyard, Luke Kennard, David Roddy and Xavier Tillman make up the starting lineup for Saturday's game.
