They will visit two projects focused on HIV/AIDS and youth crime.

Harry is carrying on the work of his late mother, Princess Diana, who held the charity very close to her heart.

The couple will first visit the Nottingham Contemporary where the Terrence Higgins Trust is holding a World AIDS day fair.

The second trip will see the newly engaged couple visit the Nottingham Academy school to visit the Full Effect charity that works to keep young people out of crime and violence.

Meghan played it safe with her first post-engagement-news outfit, choosing a navy double-breasted coat by Canadian label Mackage to wrap up in the chilly December weather.

Underneath, the former actress donned a rollneck knit and cream skirt, finishing off the winter-ready ensemble with a pair of heeled boots and a tri-tone leather Strathberry bag costing £455.

Harry chose a similar hued overcoat worn over his usual smart suit.

The couple weren’t afraid to hide their affection during their walkabout, with the pair holding hands and wrapping their arms around each other on multiple occasions.

Unlike the Duchess of Cambridge was before she became a royal, Meghan is used to charity work thanks to her celebrity status.

She is a regular speaker at the UN on women’s topics and has worked as a representative for Canadian charity, World Vision.

As for the couple’s wedding date? Reports have emerged that Harry and Meghan will marry on Saturday 26 May so that the nation can have a three-day celebration thanks to the bank holiday.

Kensington Palace is yet to confirm a specific date.
