Meet the Shreveport Times' 2024 All-Region high school wrestling team
The 2023-24 Louisiana high school wrestling season recently came to a conclusion with the LHSAA championships in Bossier City’s Brookshire Arena.
North DeSoto captured first place as a team in the LHSAA’s Division II while several Griffins, two Evangel and one Airline wrestler captured individual state titles.
Here’s a look at the 2024 Shreveport Times All-Region wrestling team selected through a consultation with coaches.
Shreveport Times 2024 All-Region Wrestling Team
First team
Lathan Tabor
North DeSoto, So.
Weight class: 106 pounds
Why selected: Tabor was 27-14 and the NOLA Regional champion while finishing third at the LHSAA State Championships.
Jacob Kershaw
North DeSoto, So.
Weight class: 113 pounds
Why selected: Kershaw was 33-6 and an LHSAA and Louisiana Classic finalist.
Michael Washington
North DeSoto, Jr.
Weight class: 120 pounds
Why selected: Washington was 38-18 overall, a regional champ and a third-place wrestler at the state championships.

Nathan Adams
North DeSoto, Sr.
Weight class: 126 pounds
Why selected: A regional champion and an LHSAA state runner-up, Adams was 35-13 on the season and the Heath, Texas, invite champ.
Collin Bell
North DeSoto, Sr.
Weight class: 132 pounds
Why selected: Bell rang up a 32-11 record. He was a regional champ and a fifth-place finisher in the state meet.
Dylan Compton
North DeSoto, Sr.
Weight class: 138 pounds
Why selected: Compton finished 21-8 while picking up a regional title and a third-place finish at the LHSAA meet.
Dalton Compton
North DeSoto, So.
Weight class: 144 pounds
Why selected: A preseason All-American, Compton was 37-9 and is now a two-time LHSAA state champion.
Hayden Bell
North DeSoto, Fr.
Weight class: 150 pounds
Why selected: In his first year of high school wrestling, Bell was 20-6 and an LHSAA state champion.
Chase Smart
North DeSoto, Jr.
Weight class: 157 pounds
Why selected: Smart earned his first LHSAA state championship and was 39-9 with a Heath, Texas, Invite title.
Cooper Reagan
Benton, Jr.
Weight class: 165 pounds
Why selected: Reagan was 38-7 overall after finishing second at state. He was first at the David Beeson, Jack Rabbit and NOLA Regional meets.
Lake Bates
North DeSoto, Sr.
Weight class: 175 pounds
Why selected: Bates was 27-4 on the season and was an LHSAA and Louisiana Classic finalist.
Caden Robison
North DeSoto, Sr.
Weight class: 190 pounds
Why selected: Robison was an LHSAA state finalist and Outlaw finalist while posting a 33-17 record.
Danon Walker
Airline, Jr.
Weight class: 215 pounds
Why selected: Walker was 46-4 and finished third at state. He was first at the NOLA Regional and at the Warrior Open in two cities.
Caiden Burns
North DeSoto, Jr.
Weight class: 285 pounds
Why selected: Burns was an LHSAA state champion going 38-11 on the season while finishing third at Allen, Texas.
