Max Muncy producing after finally turning corner

DREW SILVA: This has not been a banner season for Max Muncy. The multiple nagging injuries, the poor first half production, his overall season slash line is completely underwhelming. But peel back the curtain a bit and you'll find that Muncy has suddenly found a groove.
Since the calendar turned to August, he has batted 2.96 with a 10.09 OPS across 95 plate appearances, with 7 home runs, 6 doubles, and 19 RBIs in his last 22 games.
He had been dropped to the seventh spot in the Dodgers batting order by the end of July, but Muncy is now getting looks at cleanup again and taking full advantage of that fruitful lineup spot behind elite table setters like Mookie Betts, Trea Turner, and Freddie Freeman.
The Dodgers, themselves, are buying into this surge, too, having signed Muncy to a new one year, $13.5 million contract extension on August 22. Safe to say, they know how to evaluate talent. Fantasy managers might as well follow their lead and reap the benefits.
