Matthew Judon had funny two-word response to DeAndre Hopkins signing

New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon only had two words after learning that free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was signing with the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

“Fake news,” Judon posted on Twitter.

Judon has been throwing out recruiting pitches to high-profile players on social media all offseason. He even posed for a picture with Hopkins during a Patriots visit with the five-time All-Pro wideout. The team came away from the meeting feeling good about their chances of agreeing on a deal with Hopkins.

But then it was announced that Hopkins was returning to the AFC South to play for the Titans.

The Patriots’ failure to land an elite No. 1 receiver likely means Judon and the defense will have to continue shouldering the brunt of the load in 2023. It’s a good thing that the unit is built to contend against the most formidable offenses in the NFL.
