The Match: Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce tee off against Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson

It'll be NBA champs vs. NFL champs − on the golf course.

The eighth installment of Capital One’s "The Match" will pit stars of the defending NBA champions against the reigning Super Bowl champions: Golden State Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson vs. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, Warner Bros. Discovery announced Wednesday.

Mahomes and Curry each have two Most Valuable Player awards in their respective leagues, and all four players have multiple championships. They'll tee off for the 12-hole matchup at Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas.

"All four players are among the biggest winners in professional sports today," Warner Bros. Discovery said.

When is Capital One’s 'The Match'?

"The Match" will be played on Thursday, June 29, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. It will air on TNT.

Should the Warriors advance to the NBA Finals, Curry and Thompson will have more than a week between a potential Game 7 and "The Match."

Mahomes, Curry look to rebound

While it will be the first time Thompson and Kelce take part in "The Match," it will be the second time Mahomes and Curry will be in it.

Last June, Mahomes teamed up with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen against Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, with Brady and Rodgers winning at Wynn Golf Club. In November 2020, Curry paired with Peyton Manning in a losing effort to Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley.
