Marshall-Radford hoops at Greenbriet tickes on sale

Sep. 21—WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — Ticket sales opened Wednesday for the highly-anticipated men's basketball matchup between Marshall University and Radford University at the iconic Greenbrier resort.

The contest will be played November 10, 2023 at 7 p.m. inside the resort's largest ballroom, Colonial Hall.

Limited tickets for this historic event — the first college basketball game played a the resort — were released for sale on Wednesday and promise to be in high demand. They can be purchased through the event website at www.greenbrier.com/Holidays-Events/basketball. Ticket prices are $75 for courtside and $40 for general admission.

Student tickets — available only to current students of Marshall University or Radford University — will also be $40, but each student section will have a reserved baseline location. Anyone over the age of 2 will require a ticket. Children 2 and under will be complimentary but must sit on an adult ticket holder's lap.

Two years ago, basketball came to The Greenbrier for the first time, as the Battle for the Springhouse — which included top boys and girls high school teams from throughout West Virginia — joined golf, football, tennis, boxing, wrestling, lacrosse and others on the list of premier sporting events staged at the resort.

The Nov. 10 evemt will be border battle, as Marshall and head coach Dan D'Antoni represent the state of West Virginia against Radford and head coach Darris Nichols, a former West Virginia University point guard, representing the state of Virginia. The energy promises to be something special as the teams hit the hardwood in front of a packed venue.

This event is part of a long-term partnership between The Greenbrier and Intersport that will annually bring a major college basketball multi-team event to America's Resort. Dates, teams and television partners for future events will be announced at a later date.
