Marlon Humphrey reveals Joe Burrow’s best trait, praises Bengals WRs

The Cincinnati Bengals made life on Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey incredibly hard last year over two blowout wins.

Humphrey took it in stride though, even joking about Ja’Marr Chase “cooking” him.

And now the Ravens star has been nothing but complimentary of the Bengals trio at wideout before the showdown on Sunday night.

“They obviously have the best trio of wide receivers in the league,” Humphrey said, according to Clifton Brown of the Ravens’ website. “They all bring a different dynamic to the game. Boyd is a guy they want to get the ball to on third down a lot. Chase is their deep threat, speed, really strong YAC guy. Higgins is a mixture of both, all big-bodied guys. It’s a really tough matchup for everybody and you have to be on point.”

Humphrey also revealed at least one thing that Joe Burrow has that other passers don’t, per ESPN’s Ben Baby:

Chase put up seven catches for 125 yards in one matchup with the Ravens and eight for 201 and a touchdown in another. Burrow obviously had big numbers in the 41-17 and 41-21 blowouts, too.

Like other teams this year, the Ravens aren’t likely to leave Bengals wideouts in man coverage again, instead opting for two deep safeties to funnel the offense into short throws. It will be up to Burrow, Chase and the weapons to prove Humphrey right about what they can do, anyway.
