Marcus Stroman posts photos in pinstripes as pitcher and Yankees reportedly agree to deal

Cubs starter Marcus Stroman was an All-Star for the second time in his career.

There are signs the Yankees could be closer to adding another prominent starter to the rotation.

Amid rumors of talks between the Yankees and Marcus Stroman, the pitcher took to Instagram on Thursday night to post multiple photos of him in pinstripes. The images, one appearing to be Stroman as a child and another a photoshopped image, were posted on the 32-year-old's Instagram story:

Shortly after the posts, reports surfaced that Stroman and the Yankees reached a contract agreement.

The Yankees are scouring the pitching market for another high-end starter since missing out on Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and losing Michael King to trade. Luis Severino also left to join the Mets in free agency.

Stroman posted a solid 2023 season with the Cubs, sporting a 3.95 ERA in 25 starts. He also spent two seasons with the Mets.
