In July 2022, when nearly 80,000 soccer fans packed into Lambeau Field, they realized they would be watching history with the first soccer game at the Green Bay Packers stadium.

But they could not have realized how historic the event would be for Manchester City, which went on to have an incredible year.

That day, Manchester City played a friendly exhibition match against Bayern Munich, winning 1-0 on a tap-in goal from striker Erling Haaland off a pass from Jack Graelish.

After the victory, Haaland was walking through the tunnel in Lambeau Field and Grealish said to him, "I told you."

Haaland responded with: "That's why I'm here. Exactly these balls, that's why I'm here."

The exchange is shown in a new Netfilx documentary series about Manchester City's magical 2022-23 season titled "Together: Treble Winners."

After leaving Green Bay with a preseason victory, Manchester City went on to win the Premier League, the Football Association Cup and the UEFA Champions League. Combined, the three championships are referred to as a "treble."

The documentary crew follows Manchester City throughout the season. The series premiered on Netflix April 2.

What isn't shown are some of the interactions Manchester City players had with their fellow footballers.

Aaron Rodgers traded signed kits with midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. Packers coach Matt LaFleur talked with fellow manager Pep Guardiola before the match.

“Honestly, it was incredible yesterday without people in this massive stadium. But with people, it’s bigger,” Guardiola told the Journal Sentinel after the match. “And I know how important for this city (it was) that we came. Every time the Packers play a game, it’s full. The grass was perfect, so congratulations for the organization. Because it was very good.”

The goal that Haaland scored in Green Bay was his first in a Manchester City uniform. Haaland was one of the biggest off-season acquisitions in the Premier League that year.

Although that goal in Lambeau Field didn't count toward regular season records, Haaland would go on to set the Premier League record for goals in a season with 36 goals in 38 games.
