Making Dwight Schrute proud, Bret Bielema receives 'consultant to the head coach' title with Belichick and Patriots
Dwight Schrute would be proud to hear Bret Bielema’s new title: “Consultant to the head coach.” In the show The Office, Schrute was famously given the title: “Assistant to the regional manager.”
Bielema, the former Arkansas head coach, is now working under that title with the New England Patriots. He and coach Bill Belichick have developed a relationship, which turned into this gig, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

Last November, Bielema was fired by Arkansas after five seasons as its head coach. In that time, his teams went 29-34 and 11-29 in the Southeastern Conference. As part of his buyout, he will receive a little less than $12 million from the school’s Razorback Foundation.
Bielema began working with the New England Patriots this past spring, and he has continued to work with them from then on.
Now, like Schrute so many years ago, Bielema has been given an official title.
