FULL SCHEDULE: What is the Gadsden area high school football Week 4 schedule

Game of the Week

Boaz vs. Guntersville

This is a big one in Class 5A, Region 7, but at the end of the day, it's one of the hottest rivalries in Marshall County and the Gadsden area. Guntersville's offense got a major piece back when Julyon Jordan made his season debut against Douglas. Jordan quickly made up for lost time running 10 times for 180 yards and three scores. The Wildcats have been just fine without him, starting the season 3-0 behind Enelson Delva, who had two touchdowns in Jordan's return.

Boaz's offense has been strong and gotten it done in a variety of ways, between a run game led by Tristan Childers and Presley Fant and a potent passing attack by Tyler Pierce. This game should be close, but has the potential to become a barn-burner fast if the offenses come in firing.

Max's Pick: Guntersville wins, 42-38

Sylvania at Geraldine

This is could be the game to decide Class 3A, Region 6. Geraldine and Sylvania are the only two undefeated teams left in the region and getting to three games could lock in a playoff berth. Geraldine has started 4-0, and taken down two titans in its path while Sylvania has rolled to 3-0. Geraldine has experience already this season in big games and that will pay off this Friday.

Max's Pick: Geraldine wins 42-28

West End at Gaston

Another big region and county rivalry, this one comes from Class 2A, Region 6 and Etowah County. Gaston opened the season with a win before back-to-back shutout losses, while West End is also trending in that direction. West End looked strong in an opening season win but have dropped the last three games.

West End should take this game though, as they have more talent in the backfield and should be more experienced than a rebuilding Gaston squad.

Max's Pick: West End wins, 35-6
