Mad Bets: UFC Overeem vs. Volkov Betting Odds

Minty Bets is joined by Kevin Iole to preview the Heavyweight Main Event between Alistair Overeem vs. Alexander Volkov from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Sat. February 6.

MINTY BETS: We've got UFC Fight Night taking place on Saturday, February 6 back in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm here with Kevin Iole to give us his best bets for this event. Now, the main event is going to be a heavyweight bout between Alexander Volkov, a -185 favorite, versus Alistair Overeem, a +150 dog.

Now, I love heavyweight bouts. Kevin, please tell me this is gonna be an exciting one.

KEVIN IOLE: I like this fight. I think it's gonna be a fun fight. And I am really surprised at the line here, Minty. I am shocked that Volkov is the favorite. I would have sworn Overeem would be the favorite in the fight. Overeem has the better resume. He's been around a long time. And he's actually had fairly good form recently. You know, you've seen him out there.

And, to me, you know he's won, what, four of his last five? Had a lot of really good wins. Both of them-- both guys have had recent wins over Walt Harris. I'm surprised by the line. I like Overeem in this fight, for sure.

MINTY BETS: All righty. And then most heavyweight bouts I feel like don't go the distance. Can you see this one ending early by knockout or something?

KEVIN IOLE: I do. I think-- you know, I mean, I think either guy can win this, but I think Overeem has a better chance of winning by knockout. I mean, I think he has-- you know, Volkov has the karate. He also has some jujitsu background.

But, you know, Overeem with his knees is very vicious. Got that good Muay Thai. His kickboxing is elite. And I think he's really well-rounded. So I think this is a fight that could-- I like-- if you want to take a nice play, I would do Overeem by finish because I think he's going to finish this fight.
