M/P-B, Linton/HMB and New Salem-Almont boys' hoops win

Feb. 14—PINGREE, N.D. — The Medina/Pingree-Buchanan boys' basketball team was able to get a 45-42 win over Oakes High School on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Pingree High School.

The Thunder (11-7) were led by Rylen Wick's 20 points. The Tornadoes (10-8) were led by Eddie Garza's 17 points.

The Thunder return to the floor at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, when they go to Carrington. The Thunder attempt to bounce back at 7 p.m. on Feb. 15, when they go to LaMoure/Litchville-Marion.

NEW SALEM, N.D. — The New Salem-Almont boys' basketball team scored 27 points in the first quarter and that was enough to see them get a 71-42 win over Kidder County on Feb. 13, at New Salem High School.

The Holsteins (11-7) turned to Keaton Davis on the scoring front as he had 23 points. The Wolves (1-18) Collin Zimmerman led his team in scoring with 15.

The Holsteins are back in action at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15, when they host Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock. The Wolves will attempt to bounce back when they take part in the Region I boys' basketball tournament on Monday, March 4.

HAZELTON, N.D. — The Linton/Hazleton-Moffit-Braddock had three players score double-digits in a 62-55 win over Central McLean on Feb. 13.

The Lions' (15-3) three double-digit scorers were Jace Jochim with 20, Gentry Richter with 17 and Kash Moser with 16. The Cougars (9-8) had two players finish with double-digit points as Aiden Hansen had 25 points and Bridger Rittenbach had 11 points.

The Lions will attempt to win their third in a row at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15, when they take on New Salem-Almont. The Cougars are back in action on Friday, Feb. 23, when they take part in the District 6 tournament.
