Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park to feature Race to the Eclipse on April 8

Solar eclipses don't come around often, so Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park wants to provide a rare opportunity for families on April 8.

The total solar eclipse, which last passed over Indianapolis in 1205, will cross over Indy at 3:05 p.m. ET. According to the event page, the raceway park has partnered with the City of Brownsburg and Visit Hendricks County to provide a unique and free experience called Race to the Eclipse.

Beginning at 1 p.m., attendees will enjoy live music, food and family-friendly activities with an option for on-site camping. There will also be eclipse dragstrip races.

"Witness the exhilarating spectacle of cars racing down the dragstrip during the eclipse – a true sight to behold," the event page stated.
