LSU softball earns No. 10 seed in NCAA tournament, will host regional in Baton Rouge

The LSU Tigers softball team is hosting a regional for the 12th time in program history.

Despite a disappointing first-game exit in the SEC tournament against Ole Miss, coach Beth Torina’s team earned the No. 10 seed in the NCAA tournament and will host a regional in Baton Rouge at Tiger Park this weekend.

LSU will open its postseason run against SWAC champion Prairie View A&M on Friday. Also in the Baton Rouge regional will be Omaha, which won the Summit League title earlier on Sunday, and Louisiana.

With a win in the regional, LSU would face the winner of the Seattle Regional, which is hosted by Washington. If the Huskies hold on, that super regional would also be held in Seattle.
