LSU in NFL: Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase go off as Bengals upset 49ers

It was a slow start to the season for the Cincinnati Bengals and former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.

The team began the year 1-3 as Burrow was clearly limited with a calf injury suffered in July that was aggravated early in the season. But since then, things have changed.

Cincinnati has now won three in a row, most recently an upset over the previously 5-2 San Francisco 49ers on the road on Sunday. Burrow had his best game of the season, completing an impressive 28 of 32 passes for 283 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Former LSU receiver Ja'Marr Chase was Burrow’s favorite target. He looked to Chase 12 times, connecting with him on 10 of them for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Cincinnati has been accustomed to slow starts to the season with Burrow, but once again, it looks like this team is starting to hit its stride when it matters the most.
