Chicago Bulls

The Bulls are coming off a disappointing season but still feature veteran all-stars DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vučević. They are counting on the continued development of 2020 lottery pick Patrick Williams to provide a boost. The Bulls signed former Bucks point guard Jevon Carter as a free agent, as the team will once again play without Lonzo Ball (knee). Chicago also signed former Bucks wing Torrey Craig in free agency.

Memphis Grizzlies

Superstar guard Ja Morant will miss these games as he is suspended for displaying firearms on social media, but the Grizzlies remain a favorite in the Western Conference entering this season. They have reigning defensive player of the year Jaren Jackson Jr. protecting the rim and added guard Marcus Smart in an offseason trade. Former Bucks assistant Taylor Jenkins is the head coach of the Grizzlies.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are coming off a surprising Western Conference finals run after a slow start to the season. Former Bucks assistant Darvin Ham navigated the team through a rough first part of the season, but once Austin Reaves developed, and the team acquired D’Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt and Rui Hachimura, the Lakers took off. Led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers look poised to contend for an NBA Finals berth.

Oklahoma City

The Thunder nearly made the playoffs last year, finishing the regular season 40-42 and then going 1-1 in the play-in tournament. Led by all-NBA guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder appear primed to make a jump into the postseason this year. Chet Holmgren, the 2022 No. 2 pick, missed all of last season with injury and is back this year. Jalen Williams was an all-rookie pick a season ago, while fellow youngsters Josh Giddey, Lu Dort and Isaiah Joe make the Thunder an interesting team to watch.
