LOOK: Four-star EDGE Colton Vasek on his official visit to Texas
Texas does not have to go very far to recruit one of the best edge rushers in the entire country.
Four-star Colton Vasek out of Austin Westlake is a top priority for Steve Sarkisian and his staff.
Vasek made the quick trip to campus for an official visit this week. 247Sports composite rankings have Vasek as the No. 22 edge rusher in the nation and a top 30 player in the state of Texas for the 2023 recruiting class. He has picked up offers from the likes of Clemson, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas.
The 6-foot-6 pass rusher collected 10 sacks and 56 total tackles in his junior season at Westlake. He anchored the defense en route to a third straight state championship victory.
The Longhorns signed Vasek’s high school teammate Ethan Burke in the 2022 cycle and Brian Vasek, Colton’s father, played defensive end at Texas from 1991-95.
