Londonderry beats Pinkerton on Maloney's OT goal
Jan. 29—Michael Maloney's overtime goal lifted Londonderry High to a 5-4 victory over rival Pinkerton Academy in a Division I boys hockey game on Sunday.
Owen Carey added a pair of goals, Brett McKinnon had a goal and two assists, and Brendan Fitzgerald added a goal for the Lancers (9-1), who will host unbeaten Concord Wednesday night.
Pinkerton's Preston Libby had a hat trick and assisted on his team's other goal, which was scored by Johnny Barbarossa. Ronan Connors and Eli Sharp each had a pair of assists for the Astros (6-6).
James Kircaldie made 22 stops in the Londonderry net, to 25 saves for Pinkerton goalie Tommy Richards.
