Locally... TV selling reserved tickets, Dunn/Kessler Outing nearing

Tri-Valley selling reserved football tickets

Tri-Valley Reserved Football ticket sales begin next Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HS office for previous season ticket holders. We will have an evening sale that day from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Tickets go on sale for the general public at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the HS office. All reserved seats are $35 each.

MVOTA holding Dunn and Kessler Outing

The 31st Ken Dunn and Duane Kessler Golf Tournament by the Muskingum Valley Old Timers will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 19 at Green Valley.

The 4-person teams are $40 per person and includes green fees, one mulligan, dinner, refreshments and cash prizes. Registrations can be mailed to MVOTA, PO Box 643, Zanesville, Ohio 43702.

Golf League Results and Hole-in-Ones

At Jaycees, Craig Carlisle got a hole-in-one on No. 15 during the Knights of Columbus Wednesday Golf League on July 26. The shot was witnessed by Mike Leitenberger, Jamie Clark, and Peggy Hill.

At Zanesville Country Club, Tom Bixler fired a hole-in-one with an 8-iron on the 106-yard 8th hole on Tuesday. He shot 41 for his round, and he was playing with Don Gerbig & Jim Snider.

The Club Championships were held on July 23, as Chris Parker won the Men's Championship with a two-round total of 149; Ann Melick was the Women's Champion with 167; Craig Baldwin won the Men's Senior title with 150; Bob Glass claimed the Men's Open Division with 141; and Youth Champions were Camryn Melsheimer (Girls, 58); Theo Goodman (Boys 18 Holes, 109) and OJ Goodman (Boys 9 Holes, 64).

In the Charlie Goelz League, Steve Baldwin, Kevin Every, Jason Rosser and Larry Shank won the 2BB format with 13-under, while Doug Waltman, Bob Moon, Tom Selock and Bryan Graham were second at 10-under.

At Green Valley, Joe Simmons, Virgil Chute, Don Wiles and Keith Mills won the Senior Scramble on Monday with a team score of 48. Second place with 50 was Mike Hamilton, Ron Ayers, Alan Brookover & Bruce Iden; third with 54 was Mark Ferguson, Doug Dovenbarger, Bud Lupher & John Gibson and fourth with 57 was Dennis Dunlap, Tom Porter, Doug Smith & Dave McMillion. Closest to the pin winners were Ron Ayers (No. 6), Alan Brookover (11), Jim Sprague (15) and Doug Dovenbarger (16).

In the Edward Jones/Scott Barr Ladies League on July 26, low gross was 38 by Kathy Mathews, Liz Aichele and Pam Ruprecht; low net was 20 by Bonnie Shawger, who also won the weekly game of closest to the pin. Winning teams were 1, 5, 6, 9, 10 and 12.

Debbie Davis carded 33 for low gross and Davis and Roxie Lincicome tied for low net at 23 in the MHPCC Ladies League. Winning teams were 1, 2, 4, 7 and 10.

In the Trillium Vision Care League, Troy Frazee shot 29 for low score on the front nine and Steve Galloway posted 31 for low score on the back. Low net on the front was 25 by Dave Schmid and on the back was 27 by Denny Bryan. Low net team was Green Valley with 114.

The Wednesday Night Green Valley Parettes had Liz Aichele with low gross of 36 and Liz Aichele and Kathy Clark with low net of 24. Winning teams were 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10 and 13.

Kathy Mathews shot 39 for low score and Bonnie Shawger and Krystal Mazier shared low net of 22 in the Edward Jones/Scott Barr Ladies League. Weekly game was closest to the pin on the second shot at No. 4, which was won by Liz Aichele, and winning teams were 2, 7, 9, 11 and 12 with 1 and 10 tied.

At Vista, The Senior League sent in results from July 27, as Rusty Carr led the Palmer Division with low gross of 32, while Tom Denton shot 33 and Chuck Ford, Mike Matz and Jim Sander had 35. Low net was Denton with 28, Carr with 29 and Ford, Matz and Sander with 31. Division leaders are Brent Bunting & Dave Cox with 34 points, Mike Matz & Rusty Carr 32 and Rocky Brownfield & John Crown 26.

In the Nicklaus Division, Steve Clark carded low gross of 36 with Larry Kimble at 37 and Alan Brookover, John Kay and Mike Firman at 39. Clark also had low net of 29 with Kimble, Brookover, Firman and Ron Shirer at 32. Division leaders are Ron Shirer & Steve Clark with 30.5, Alan Brookover & Carl Vensil 26.5, Bob Reed & John Kay 26, Mike Firman & Kenny Burke 26.

At Crystal Springs, Tommy Georgiades shot 35 for low gross and Georgiades and Paul Davis posted low net of 31 in the A Division of the Crystal Springs Golf Club and Community Bank Monday Morning Senior League. Winning Teams were 12-3-2-14-4-15 and 1 & 6 and 5 & 8 tied. In the B Division, Tim Paul shot 37 for low gross, Paul and Terry Smith had 32s for low net, and winning teams were 8-1-6-2-14-4-15-11.

Christian Hayden and Griffin Hayden each shot 35 for low gross and Chris Palmer posted low net of 32 in the Tuesday Evening Hittle League. The winning teams were 9-1-2-5-10 and 6 & 7 tied.

At Fuller's Fairways, In THE GREENS Couples Scramble League, low gross was 34 by Brady & Rose Campbell, and low net was 29 by Joe & Sas Dougherty. The winning teams were Bob & Lynn Werry, Mike & Kelly Eades, Matt & Misty Grimm, Greg & Robin Sites, Barrett & Ashley Tamasovich, Dan & Diane Jewell, Brady & Rose Campbell, Joe & Sas Dougherty, Al & Sandy Hall, Joe & Melody Good, and Mark & Kelly Baughman. Closest to the pin on No. 6 was Dave Lyons and 8 was Brady Campbell.

Doug Vousden fired 33 for low gross while Matt Farus had 30 for low net in the GEYER FAMILY INSURANCE Wednesday League. Team results: Geyer Family Insurance (4.5); Big Johnsons (.5); Farus Funeral Home (5), J & S Maintenance (0); Flecto (3.5), 3 Bald Guys & Bob (1.5); Fulmer Insurance (3), Carlwick Stop & Shop (2); Goss Supply (4), Jarretts (1); Mayhem (3.5), CCU Mining (1.5).

At EagleSticks, Zack Forker fired 32 for low gross on the front nine and Mike Walters posted 33 for low gross on the back in the Coconis Furniture Tuesday League. Low net leaders were Kevin McPeck with 28 on the front and Dave Cox with 28 on the back.
