Local sports: Big wins for Ida, Huron; Dundee drops showdown

ONSTED – A 25-0 run by Onsted at the end of the first half and start of the second proved too much for Dundee to overcome Saturday as the Vikings dropped the Lenawee County Athletic Association boys basketball showdown, 71–47.

The loss dropped Dundee second place in the league race.

“We’re hurting right now, but you have to pick yourself up,” said Dundee coach Jay Haselschwerdt. “Hats off to them. They wanted to avenge the loss we gave them earlier this season ,and they were motivated.”

Dundee was tied with the defending league champion 17-17 late in the second quarter when the swing began.

Onsted's Ayden Davis, shown going to the basket against Joe Francis of Adrian, scored 27 points Saturday in a 71-47 win over Dundee. The teams came into the game tied for first place in the Lenawee County Athletic Association.

The closest Dundee would get the rest of the way was 18 points.
