‘We’ll see’: Zac Taylor says Joe Burrow is questionable for Bengals vs. Rams

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said quarterback Joe Burrow is questionable to play against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night at Paycor Stadium.

“We’ll see … we still got two days, 48 hours before the game,” Taylor said on Saturday.

Burrow re-tweaked the same calf he injured on the second day of training camp that sidelined him for five weeks in the final minutes of the Bengals’ Week 2 loss to the Ravens.

The Bengals kept Burrow out of practice on Thursday, the first day of practice this week. On Friday, he returned to practice in a limited capacity. Taylor said he looked “good” in his first practice of the week. Wide receiver Tyler Boyd said Burrow threw a decent number of passes in practice.

During the portion of practice open to the media on Saturday morning, Burrow was participating in the red zone period throwing passes. The Bengals are getting backup quarterback Jake Browning ready to go in the case Burrow is unable to play.

Taylor says the Bengals are “taking everything into account” when making this decision. When asked if this is considered a game-time decision, Taylor refrained from making any declarations at the moment.

“We'll see,” Taylor said. “It's really day to day. We have conversations and see where it goes.”

Burrow is certainly taking the Bengals 0-2 start into account when making this decision. The upcoming matchup against the Rams is viewed as a “must-win” game according to Boyd.

“It's in my head for sure, I'm thinking about it,” Burrow said of the current record of the Bengals heading into the Week 3 matchup.

The Bengals’ medical staff, Taylor and Burrow will be in constant communication over the next few days as they get closer to Monday night.
