Liverpool vs Wolves line-ups: Team news and more ahead of Premier League title decider

Liverpool face Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are a point behind Manchester City, who travel to play Brighton.

Although it isn’t in their own hands, Liverpool will want to maintain their winning momentum, particularly after Tuesday’s stunning comeback against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Wolves have won three games in a row, and have guaranteed seventh place on their return to the top flight.

The last time these two played was in the FA Cup third round, when Ruben Neves’ winner knocked Liverpool out; Virgil Van Dijk netted in the league fixture at Molineux in December, which Liverpool won 2-0.

Prediction… Liverpool 2-1 Wolves

While eyes will inevitably drift to the south coast throughout Sunday afternoon, Liverpool must remain focused on what they can influence, and Wolves will be no pushovers at Anfield.

Captained by former Liverpool player Conor Coady, Wolves have had an outstanding season: the newly promoted side are guaranteed seventh place, reached an FA Cup semi-final, and have taken points off every top six member apart from… Liverpool.

With seventh and potential European football now assured, could motivation be less and could Nuno Espirito Santo play some fringe players as a result? Liverpool fans will certainly hope so, in a match they simply have to win.

Thus like Tuesday, expect Liverpool to be bang at it, with Mo Salah likely to come straight back into the starting XI. With a raucous atmosphere anticipated also, Liverpool will by hook or by crook get over the line here, as they have done consistently in the past two months. 2-1 Liverpool – no pressure City.
