Tyler Badie extends Missouri's lead over Gamecocks

Badie goes 19 yards untouched to the house. This is such a stark difference from how South Carolina looked last week, it's rough to watch.

The Gamecocks' two drives in this third quarter have both started inside their own 7-yard line. With USC's struggles today, the strategy has worked out with the Tigers clinging to a 3-point lead. There's 4:58 left in the third, Mizzou up 17-14.

Not the cleanest start for the Gamecocks on offense. First, an underthrown ball from Brown that gets easily picked off, then MarShawn Lloyd puts the ball on the turf, recovered by Mizzou.

Both of those turnovers also have come in plus territory, but USC has shot itself in the foot from potentially putting points on the board. But Shane Beamer's team still has the early lead, 7-0.

Kevin Harris scores the game's first TD

Two interceptions in rapid succession by both offenses. On South Carolina's second possession, they lean more heavily on the run game and Kevin Harris capped the drive with a 3-yard touchdown run.

COLUMBIA, Missouri – Will South Carolina be able to clinch a bowl game berth today at Missouri?

The Gamecocks (5-4, 2-4) have a tone of momentum in their favor against the Tigers (4-5, 1-4) after obliterating Florida, 40-17, last weekend at Williams-Brice Stadium. If USC can stay hot and win today, it'll secure the football team's first bowl game since 2018.

Senior transfer quarterback Jason Brown made his first start as a Gamecock against Florida and provided a spark for a meandering offense, which put up 33 points. But it was the offensive line and South Carolina's stable of running backs that packed the ultimate punch, rushing for more than 280 yards.

Missouri has a historically bad defense and there will be opportunities for the Gamecocks to earn their sixth win this season in the other Columbia.
