Kayser reaches pay dirt again

Westlake runningback, Jack Kayser burst 10-yards up the middle for his third TD of the night as the Chaps lead Reagan 45-22 with 9:27 remaining in the game.

Scott to Mukuba for a hat trick

For the third time tonight, LBJ's Ali Scott finds Fatu Mukuba on a pass for a score. This covered 14 yards.

Huntsville still leads 54-28.

LT advances to face SA Brennan

After forcing 6 interceptions in the first half, Lake Travis coasted to a 48-21 win over SA Johnson.

LT, 10-2, will play SA Brennan at 3:00 in the Alamodome.

Rattlers cut Westlake lead to 2 scores entering the final quarter

Reagan qb Brad Jackson took matters into his own hands as he atoned for his interception on the previous drive as he scored on a 10-yard scramble on the last play of the third quarter. A successful 2-point conversion pass has make the score 38-22 entering the fourth.

Scott scores with his feet

LBJ's Ali Scott added to his pair of scoring passes, with a 1-yard scoring run. Huntsville leads the Jags 54-20.

Westlake's Jack Kayser scored his second short TD as Westlake took advantage of Denim Collins' interception. Colins stepped in front of Brad Jackson's pass along the Westlake sideline as the Chaps capitalized on the TO. Westlake leads 38-14 late in the 3rd.

Too little, too late

Ali Scott connected with Fatu Mukuba on a second scoring pass, this one from 39 yards out as LBJ still trails Huntsville 54-12.

Reagan narrows Chap lead

After holding Westlake on the opening possession of the 2nd half, Reagan has reached the end zone for the second consecutive possession as Brad Jackson hit Michael Yzuguirre for 17 yards to cut the gap to 31-14 midway through the 3rd. .

LT leads 41-14 entering 4th

Lake Travis continues to dominate Johnson as the Jags have scored with 20 seconds remaining in the 3rd.

After falling behind 40-0 in the third, LBJ finally dents the scoreboard as Ali Scott hits Fatu Mukuba on a 13-yard scoring toss. Huntsville now leads 40-6.

Hamilton runs wild in first half

Lake Travis' Nico Hamilton has carried the ball 15 times for 136 yards and three scores to pace the Cavalier offense.

In one of the most eye-opening stats of the night, Lake Travis has picked off Ty Hawkins 6 times in the opening 24 minutes. In the previous 11 games, the LT defense only manage to pilfer 3 opponent passes.

In the second quarter, Alice leads Lampasas 28-7.

Huntsville has tacked on another score as the Hornets are shutting out LBJ 24-0 in the 3rd.

Lake Creek has moved its lead on Crockett to 29-13 in the second quarter.

Westlake responds with 2-minute drive results in points

After allowing a TD with 58 seconds remaining in the half, Jack Kayser long kick return set up the Chaps in Rattler territory and the drive was capped by Spencer Barnett's 20-yard chip shot field goal as the clock ran out as Westlake leads 31-7 at the half.

Crockett trails in 2nd

Lake Creek has opened up a 22-13 second quarter lead over Crockett.

SA Reagan has scored and Westlake now leads 28-7 with 58 seconds remaining in the opening half.

Lake Travis leads at half

Playing a near-perfect first half, Lake Travis leads Johnson 41-7 at the half.

Wise to Wilhelm connect for a 26-yard score

Rees Wise hooks up with Brody Wilhelm on a 26-yard scoring pass as Westlake scores again as the Chaps lead Reagan 28-0.

The passed capped an 64-yard scoring drive.

McNeil is tied with Cibolo Steele 21-21 in the second quarter.

Wise calls his own number for a score

Westlake's Rees Wise scored a a qb keeper from inside 10 yards as the Chaps marched 81 yards in 8 plays to extend their lead to 21-0 in the second quarter.

All three Westlake drives have ended in TDs as the Cavs have amassed over 200 yards in the opening half.

Westlake's district rival, Lake Travis has now garnered 5 interceptions in the opening half. as Walker Moore picks up his second in the Cavalier end zone.

Cavaliers stretch their lead; Bartlet caps 85-yard Chaparral drive

After Lake Travis recovers an onside kick, Chaston Ditta scored from 12 yards out as the Cavs lead S.A. Johnson 34-7 with 5:56 remaining before intermission.

On the ensuing Johnson possession, Everett Underhill joined the interception club as he claims the fourth Cavalier pick in the opening half.

Grady Bartlett's 4-yard run capped an 85-yard scoring march as Westlake now leads S.A Reagan 14-0 late in the opening quarter.

Westlake draws first blood

Taking over inside S.A. Reagan territory, the Chaps converted a pair of fourth downs, including Jack Kayser's one-yard plunge to put Westlake in front 7-0 with 5:38 remaining in the opening quarter.

After spotting Lake Travis a 27-0 lead, San Antonio Johnson finally got its offense untracked and marched 88-yards for a score. Gabriel Simpson was on the receiving end of a 22-yard scoring toss from Ty Hawkins. The Cavs lead 27-7 with 7:32 remaining in the first half.

Cavs cashing in on every opportunity

After Walker Moore's pick, Lake Travis cashed in as Chaston Ditta found Kadyn Leon on a 10-yard scoring pass with 30 seconds left in the first. LT leads 27-0 entering the second quarter.

Huntsville has also added a pair of TDs to extend its lead to 27-0 over LBJ.

Cedar Park and Angleton have entered the second quarter scoreless.

Three picks on the first

After shutting down unbeaten Vandegrift last Friday, Lake Travis has continued to play elite defense as the Cavs just intercepted their third pass in the first quarter.

Pilfering passes for the Cavs are: Walker Moore, Cam-Ren Chance-Brooks and Keiondre Lewis.

LBJ down early

Huntsville has grabbed an early 14-0 lead over LBJ in a 5A DII area round matchup at Waco ISD Stadium.

Meanwhile down at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, Lake Travis' Nico Hamilton has added a second TD in the opening quarter to give the Cavs a 20-0 lead over San Antonio Johnson with 7:31 left in the first.

Cavs racing to fast start

After S.A. Johnson deferred and elected to kick to Lake Travis, the Cavs' Josiah Estes made them pay as he returned the opening kickoff 77 yards and a score to put Lake Travis ahead 7-0.

After a Keindre Lewis interception, Nico Hamilton capped a 49-yard drive with a 3-yard scoring run with 9:32 remaining in the first to give Lake Travis a 14-0 lead.

Burnet jumps out to early lead

The Bulldogs have jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over Port Lavaca Calhoun in a 4A DI area round tussle.

Burnet comes into the game on a five-game winning streak that took the Bulldogs from 3-3 to 8-3.

The winner will face the winner of the Alice - Lampasas battle.

Westlake featured on KBVO

If you are looking for a televised game in the area tonight, KBVO is broadcasting the Westlake - S.A. Reagan. Kickoff is at 7:30.

It is a battle of unbeatens as both the Chaps and Rattlers possess identical 11-0 marks.

Will LH football team match its volleyball counterpart?

This afternoon the Liberty Hill football team gathered together to watch the LH volleyball team advance to the 5A state championship match as the Lady Panthers beat the defending state champs, Colleyville Heritage 25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21.

Tonight the football squad looks to move one step closer to its own state finals appearance as the Panthers square off with Mission Pioneer at San Antonio's Farris Stadium.

Offensively, Ben Carter leads the Panthers with 1898 yards and 24 TDs on the ground, while Noah Long has added 972 rushing yards in just 7 games.

Granger punches its ticket to regional quarterfinals

Granger notched an area round win last night as the Lions mauled district 15 champion Brackett 27-0 at SW Legacy Stadium in Von Ormy.

The win moves the Lions record to 10-2 entering into the 3rd round of the 2A DII playoffs. Granger awaits the winner of the Agua Dulce - Chilton winner.

This is the second consecutive season that Granger has advanced to the third round. The Lions fell to Burton 27-7 in the regional finals last December.

Who will be practicing on Thanksgiving?

Once teams make the playoffs and win their opening bi-district game, the goal of the next week is to win the area round championship so the team can practice on Thanksgiving. That is the goal for the teams in action this weekend.
