NBA In-Season Tournament finals: Indiana Pacers fall to Los Angeles Lakers 123-109

The In-Season Tournament finals are here for the Indiana Pacers.

After beating the Milwaukee Bucks in the semifinals, Indiana will take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals tonight.

Final: Lakers 123, Pacers 109

The Pacers were in it for most of the game, but the Lakers were just too much in the end. LeBron James and Anthony Davis were unstoppable for LA. Davis had 41 points and 20 rebounds while James had 24 points and 11 assists.

For the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin both put up 20 points. Haliburton also had 11 assists. Indiana shot 37% from the floor and LA shot 53%.

The Lakers just rattled off 10 straight points. Anthony Davis is having a game. He has 39 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks.

5:25 left 4Q: Lakers distance themselves, but Pacers still in it

Lakers have kept the Pacers from taking over the lead, but Indiana is still in this. Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin each have 18 points, which leads the Pacers. Myles Turner made a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 102-99, but then Cam Reddish answered with a 3 of his own.

The Pacers opened the quarter with a 7-2 run. Obi Toppin made a 3, then T.J. McConnell stole the ball from Anthony Davis on the ensuing possession, then passed it to Bennedict Mathurin. The second-year star finished off with a basket.

Bennedict Mathurin hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to make this a single-digit game going into the final quarter. Tyrese Haliburton caught on that period and now leads the team with 15 points.

The Lakers lead by 11 points after Austin Reaves' layup. LA has three players (Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Austin Reaves) who have scored at least 20 points each.

LA has outscored Indiana so far in the third quarter, 12-9. Anthony Davis got banged up but he remains in the game.

Like before, the Pacers got close but couldn't quite take the lead. Isaiah Jackson's basket cut LA's lead to 58-56 but Indiana couldn't jump ahead.

Coming off the bench, Aaron Nesmith leads the Pacers with 11 points. Obi Toppin has 10. Tyrese Haliburton has put up 7 points and 6 assists. Austin Reaves, who did not start for the Lakers, scored 22 points. He made 8 of 9 free throw attempts.

Shooting has continued to be an issue for Indiana. The Pacers shot 36% from the floor while LA shot 55%. Indiana is 5 of 17 from 3 (29%). The Lakers on the other hand went 0 for 6 from deep.
