Listen Now! How many draft picks do the Jacksonville Jaguars have? Podcast breaks it down

Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke isn’t afraid to make deals on draft day.

Last year, the Jaguars went into the NFL Draft with nine picks, but they walked away with 13.

Baalke traded down twice before taking Anton Harrison with their first-round pick in 2023.

This year, the Jaguars have eight picks, including the No. 17 overall.

If Baalke sees someone he wants, he could potentially trade to move up in the draft. If his board still has multiple players on it when No. 17 arrives, he could trade down.

What he will do is anybody’s guees.

However, if there’s one person who might have a better idea than most, it’s Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville. He's the latest guest on "The *State* of Florida Sports Podcast," powered by the USA Today Network.

Demetrius has been making mock drafts for weeks, and he and his Times-Union colleagues are ready to own Jaguars Draft coverage.

Here’s how the Jaguars’ draft picks break down:

  • Round 1: No. 17

  • Round 2: No. 48

  • Round 3: No. 96*

  • Round 4: No. 114

  • Round 4: No. 116 (from New Orleans)

  • Round 5: No. 153

  • Round 6: No. 212*

  • Round 7: No. 236

Note: An asterisk denotes a compensatory selection.

Many draft experts say their top three needs include cornerback, wide receiver and defensive linemen.

We’ll see if Demetrius agrees.

In addition to this year’s draft, we’ll also talk about how the team’s defense was the scapegoat last year, but how the offense didn’t exactly light the world up either.

And we'll talk about their 2024 schedule, including whether this will be the year the Jaguars play a game on Thanksgiving.
