Licking County League honors top baseball players, coaches
NEWARK — Two-way standouts excelled on Licking County League baseball diamonds this spring and led their teams to the top.
Watkins Memorial senior Trace Hartman recently was named Buckeye Division Player of the Year, and Watkins’ Donald Schone was named Coach of the Year. They led the Warriors to their third consecutive Buckeye championship, rolling to an unbeaten mark in league play.
Heath junior Hayden Woodward and Newark Catholic senior Eli Morris led their teams to a share of the Cardinal championship, and they and Utica junior Roman Gamble each earned Player of the Year honors. Heath’s Tom Warren and NC’s John Cannizzaro shared Coach of the Year honors.
