Oct. 6—BUCKFIELD — Justin Lucas' first-half goal was enough for Buckfield to earn a 1-0 win over St. Dom's in a Class D boys soccer matchup Friday.

It is the Bucks (9-1) second hard-fought victory over the the Saints (3-7-1) in less than a week. Buckfield defeated St. Dom's 2-1 last Saturday in Auburn.

Lucas' goal was scored midway through the opening half. He received a throw-in from Nolan Keene, collected the ball off his chest near the 18-yard box, then turned and fired it into the net.

Bucks coach Kyle Rines said that the Saints played tough the entire game and made the Bucks "earn every inch." He added that "Tim Ouellette and Jonathan Tangliamisu kept putting pressure on the Buckfield defense and goalie Cayden Durgin."

Durgin finished with four saves. St. Dom's Riley Daigle stopped eight shots, including, Rines said, "some incredible saves in some 1-on-1 situations."

Logan Berube recorded a hat trick for the Hornets (3-9) in their win over the Ramblers (3-9) in Winthrop.

Brayden Greenlaw netted a goal and had two assists. Jake Dening and Colin Schlobohn also scored, and Max Thibault and Bradley Dupile each had an assist. Also, Winthrop had an own goal.

Vanya Bezhenar and Alex Corey split time in net for the Hornets, and each made two saves.

Cru Presti made nine saves for Winthrop.

Luke Tobias scored in the second half to lift the Windjammers (9-2) over the Red Eddies (7-4) in Rockport.

The loss ends Edward Little's seven-game winning streak.

Camden Hills goalie Brian Leonard stopped the only shot he faced. Edward Little's Logan Martin made four saves.

Payton Mitchell and Morgan Thibodeau teamed up to lead the offensive charge in the Roadrunners' (11-0) road win over Bulldogs (9-3) in Farmingdale.

Mitchell scored two goals, both assisted by Thibodeau, and he provided the assist on Thibodeau's goal. Mt. Abram held a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Logan Dube made save for the shutout. Ben Nathan stopped six shots in goal for Hall-Dale.

Chloe Beauchesne scored both of her team's goals as the Saints (3-7) won in Lisbon.

Abigail Labonte and Ava Martin assisted on Beauchesne's goals. Maia Cote made six saves in goal.

Riley Hoyle scored for Lisbon (2-8-1), while goalie Sophia Cote stopped three shots.

Audrey Philbrook scored the game's only goal to lift the Lakers (7-3-1) past the Falcons (4-7) in Rumford.

Philbrook's goal was scored in the third quarter. Lake Region goalie Reiyn Hart made six saves.

Mountain Valley goalie Brooke Brown had a strong outing, stopping 14 shots.

Sumeya Hussein scored two goals, and Tilsley Kelly and Ava Van der Schaaf added one each as the Flyers (4-5) built a 4-0 lead and held off the Rebels (1-11) in Portland.

Kyra Rose-Espinoza scored twice for Telstar.

Gabby Allen scored twice to pace the Saints (8-3-1) past the Bucks (7-4) in Buckfield.

Piper Croteau also found the back of the net for St. Dom's. Anna Theriault earned the shutout with eight saves.

Kianna Finnegan stopped seven shots for Buckfield

The Saints also defeated the Bucks by a 3-0 score last week in Auburn.
