Le'Veon Bell wanted to fight Vontaze Burfict. Here's how the former Cincinnati LB replied

Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell said some not-nice things on social media about Vontaze Burfict after suggesting that he wanted to box the former Cincinnati Bengals' linebacker.

Burfict, it appears, has taken the high road, suggesting that the two meet and compete on the golf course in a charity event.

"@leveonbell Why we lookin' to fight? Why not show everyone WE can change the narrative. Let's show the world WE can squash beef in other ways than boxing," Burfict posted on Instagram. "Let's meet and compete on the golf course. Get some charities involved so WE can help people in need and show kids that we resolved our differences to make the world a better place."

Bell responded Tuesday via Twitter:

Bell, who last September knocked out former NFL running back Adrian Peterson in an exhibition boxing match, was asked during an episode of the Misfits Boxing podcast whether there's someone he wants to fight.

"There is, there is, it's just this person is not a boxer," Bell said on the podcast. "It's someone from football. They had purposely injured me. I don't think I want to say the name, but people who watched my career when I hurt my knee, people know. Yeah, people know. Yeah, but like, I would love to put my hands on him like in the ring. … It's hard to kind of like I guess find that fine line. … I use all my aggression and all my like I guess personal issues inside the ring."

Bell suffered a season-ending injury when Burfict tackled him during Cincinnati's 16-10 win in Pittsburgh in Nov. 2015. He told triblive.com that the Bengals as a team were trying to twist his ankles and do "little dirty stuff" during the game.

In 2017, Bell responded on social media when Burfict avoided suspension for kicking at the facemask of then-Steelers fullback Roosevelt Nix by tweeting, "man dude gotta go man…that's not football AT ALL!!"

One week later, Burfict came to running back Joe Mixon's defense when Bell criticized Mixon. "Le'Veon is not as good as Le'Veon thinks he is," Burfict said.
